The 2005 Annual Meeting/Advocacy Day
was held in conjunction with Preservation
Action, the National
Trust for Historic Preservation, the National
Alliance of Preservation Commissions (NAPC), and the National
Association of Tribal Historic Preservation Officers (NATHPO)
February 27 - March 2, 2005 in Washington, D.C. There were over
300 participants representing:
- State Historic Preservation Officers;
- members of Preservation Action;
- National Trust for Historic Preservation
Statewide and Local Partners;
- National Trust for Historic Preservation
Advisors;
- Main Street coordinators;
- members of the National Alliance
of Preservation Commissions;
- Tribal Historic Preservation Officers;
- community activitists; and
- federal agencies.
Participants attended a variety of
sessions, and were updated on important legislative issues (summaries
are available below).
With this information, participants
then made visits to Capitol Hill, meeting with their Representatives
and Senators and advocating for these issues.
